Content Creators Are Flocking To A Credit Card That’s Turning Instagram Stories Into Cold, Hard Cash

A new credit card is gaining traction among content creators, offering a unique form of currency: Instagram Stories. Unlike traditional credit cards, On The House (OTH) doesn’t require monetary payments. Instead, users pay for goods and services by posting content to their social media accounts.

According to indy100, the card allows influencers to access a range of experiences, including Michelin-star restaurants, nightlife venues, cabaret shows, sports and beach clubs, perfumeries, and spas. In exchange, cardholders are required to create Instagram Stories featuring the partnered brands.

Eligibility for the OTH card is based on social media presence. Applicants must have a public profile and a substantial engaged follower base and commit to daily content creation that includes features of partnered brands.

Aliyah Jasmine Wan, an influencer with 83,000 Instagram followers, demonstrated the card’s functionality in a viral video. She reports spending $4,000 weekly on various services, each typically costing two Instagram Stories.

According to Wan, the card’s allowance ranges from $1,000 to $4,000 weekly, depending on the creator’s following. The value of services accessible to cardholders also varies based on their tier. For example, a lower-tier creator might access services up to $250, while higher-tier creators could receive services valued at $500. Wan describes the arrangement as mutually beneficial for content creators and businesses.

The card’s application process focuses on social media metrics rather than traditional financial information. Applicants are asked to provide their social media handles and follower counts, and no banking details are required.
