Kamala Harris Tackles Sexual Abuse, Women’s Empowerment On “Call Her Daddy” Podcast
Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on Alex Cooper’s popular “Call Her Daddy” podcast on October 7, initiating a media blitz by the Democratic ticket as the 2024 election campaign enters its final 30 days.
The approximately 40-minute interview, taped last week, covers topics including abortion, sexual abuse, and women’s empowerment.
“Call Her Daddy” is known for its frank discussions on relationships, sex, and mental health. It boasts millions of listeners and ranks as the most-listened-to podcast for women.
Harris’ appearance departs from her usual media engagements, addressing criticism about her limited interview presence. During the conversation, the VP stressed the importance of perseverance in the face of doubt.
“I don’t hear no. I urge all the ‘Daddy Gang,’ don’t hear no, just don’t hear it,” she stated, adding, “I think it’s really important not to let other people define you.”
Harris discussed women’s challenges in public office and credited her mother for instilling toughness. She also highlighted reproductive rights as a key issue in the upcoming election.
Harris shared observations from her travels, noting that even individuals with strong opposition to abortion express concern about unintended consequences following the repeal of Roe v. Wade.
She said, “They are now seeing what’s happening and saying, ‘Hmm, I didn’t intend for all this to happen,’” when confronted with resulting health issues.
The interview is part of a broader media strategy for Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz.
Harris is scheduled to appear on several high-profile programs in the coming days, including CBS’ “60 Minutes,” Howard Stern’s satellite radio show, ABC’s “The View,” and “The Late Show” with Stephen Colbert.
This media push comes as the Democratic ticket aims to boost support against Republican opponents Donald Trump and JD Vance.
Harris uses the platform to critique her opponents, describing Donald Trump as “full of lies” on abortion and other issues and dismissing JD Vance’s comments about “childless cat ladies” as “mean and mean-spirited.”
