GetYourGuide Launches Influencer Videos, AI Tools To Inspire Travel Bookings
GetYourGuide, the global marketplace for travel experiences, has introduced new features to simplify operations and enhance differentiation for its 30,000+ experience partners.
The company’s fall release includes video content, AI-powered listing creation, and improved data insights.
In a limited rollout, GetYourGuide adds videos to select destination and product pages. These videos, produced in collaboration with the platform’s 10,000-strong creator community, aim to provide travelers with authentic views of destinations and experiences.
An AI Content Creator tool designed to generate guideline-compliant listings more quickly is now available to experience partners. GetYourGuide reports that this tool can reduce creation time by up to 40% and lead to fewer errors in listings.
The company also unveils new “Insights” functionality, offering features like “Likely to Sell Out” predictions to help partners manage inventory more effectively. Additionally, improvements to the platform’s connectivity options now support live availability, pricing updates, and add-ons via API.
These updates come as consumer spending on experiences continues to grow.
Research published by GetYourGuide and Earnest Analytics indicates that American spending on experiences has increased by 32% in the 12 months ending August 31, 2024, compared to the 12 months ending January 1, 2019. This growth outpaces overall consumer goods spending, which rose 21% in the same period, while discretionary goods spending grew by 5%.
The research suggests this trend is driven by the increasing popularity of online booking platforms for experiences and travelers’ growing preference for authentic and immersive experiences over traditional travel expenses like flights and accommodation.
“Experience partners bring creativity, local knowledge, and a passion that transforms trips into lifelong memories. We’re committed to giving them the tools to make that magic happen,” GetYourGuide COO and co-founder Tao Tao said in a press release.
The company has also expanded its language support, adding 13 new languages for customers and 5 for partners, potentially opening new markets for experience creators.
This release builds on GetYourGuide’s spring update, marking the company’s continued focus on enhancing tools for its supply partners in the experience economy, a sector estimated to be worth $1.7 trillion.
Travel technology company NextTrip, Inc. also recently announced the launch of Compass.tv, a travel discovery channel and app featuring over 1,000 hours of video content. The platform, targeting Millennials and Gen Z, aims to convert viewers into customers by allowing them to book vacations directly through the channel.
Concurrently, Expedia Group launched Travel Shops, a feature that brings shoppable storefronts to the travel industry. It allows creators to share and monetize their travel recommendations through first-of-their-kind shoppable storefronts.
