MrBeast Claims ‘Beast Games’ Is Amazon Prime’s #1 Most-Watched Show In 50+ Countries

MrBeast reports that his new series “Beast Games” has reached the number one spot on Amazon Prime Video in more than 50 countries since its recent premiere.

The creator, who holds the title of most-subscribed YouTuber, announced via X that the show is trending in “almost half the countries on Earth,” including major markets such as the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, and India.

The reality competition series features 1,000 contestants competing for a $5 million cash prize, representing reality television’s largest prize offering. Production costs for the series total $100 million, with $14 million allocated to constructing “Beast City,” a purpose-built competition venue in Toronto, Canada.

MrBeast, known for high-budget YouTube content, including viral stunts and recreations of popular media like “Squid Game,” has released three episodes of “Beast Games” on the streaming platform thus far.

The announcement comes as streaming platforms continue to invest in creator-led content and competition formats. “Beast Games” represents one of the largest budget allocations for a creator-driven series on Amazon Prime Video to date.

Specific viewership numbers have not been disclosed. The show has a 5.5/10 rating based on 4.9k votes on IMDb as of writing.

Beast Games Controversy

In the summer of 2024, reports emerged that the “Beast Games” production encountered logistical challenges and raised concerns about participant safety and well-being.

According to MrBeast’s representative, three medical issues occurred among the participants. Two were unrelated to the production, while one involved dehydration. The representative stated at the time that water, electrolyte drinks, and the entire medical staff were available on-site; all affected individuals had been released and were doing well.

However, conflicting reports revealed that a hospital employee claimed “three or four hospital evacs” during one day, describing the production as “unprepared for the scale” with inadequate on-site medical staff.

In September 2024, five anonymous “Beast Games” participants, representing all 1,000 contestants, sued MrBeast and Amazon, alleging unsafe conditions, unpaid labor, and sexual harassment during the show’s production.

The lawsuit claimed contestants were subjected to surveillance, controlled sleep schedules, and restricted privacy while also mentioning insufficient meals, dangerous sets, and inadequate background checks that allowed convicted criminals to participate.
