Linktree vs Bio.fM – Feature Comparision for Creators and Influencers
Today, we’ll be looking at two major competitors – Linktree and bio.fm
Let’s face it – the link in your bio is the gateway to your brand. Making sure you have the best possible bio link is vital to ensure the most clicks.
Previously, creators had to constantly update the link in their bio to promote their newest post or product. Now, however, many influencers, content creators, and social media users have turned to using personalized landing pages that offer access to all their information in a single, easy-to-use link. This not only saves time, but also helps to keep followers interested and engaged.
With so many link-in-bio tools available on the market, it can be challenging to determine which one is the best fit for you.
Linktree
Linktree is a tool that helps users share all their content in a single link, making it easier for their online content to be discovered, managed, and converted. It was created in 2016 by Alex and Anthony Zaccaria and their business partner Nick Humphreys, who were running a digital agency and found it tedious to constantly update singular bio links.
Today, Linktree has over 30 million users worldwide and helps brands, artists, publishers, agencies, and influencers better control their online presence. It has offices in Melbourne, Australia, Sydney, and Los Angeles, and has received recognition as one of CNBC’s “Upstart 100” in 2019 and Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Companies of 2020” in the Social Media category.
As far as brand recgonization goes, linktree is the one to beat. With so many creators, influencers, and major celebrities using the page, it’s easy to trust the platform.
What types of features does Linktree offer?
Real-time analytics
Linktree allows you to see limited analytics such as total view and click count, the CTR (click through rate percentage), and which clicks were unique.
However, to see more data such as location of your followers and where the clicks are coming from, you will have to upgrade to one of their 3 paid options.
Linktree offers three different pricing plans: the Starter plan for $5 per month, the Pro plan for $9 per month (recommended by Linktree), and the Premium plan for $24 per month.
The Starter plan includes additional customization options such as a spotlight link and scheduling feature, as well as the ability to upload custom images and videos.
The Pro plan includes most of the features of the Premium plan, except for a few listed exceptions.
The Premium plan is tailored towards large businesses and includes a customer service manager, fast support response times, an on-boarding call, and access to exclusive content. It is referred to as Linktree’s “VIP” plan.
You are given some ability to customize your link with different theme templates with the free plan, but most of the customization comes from the premium memberships.
Bio.fm
Another popular link-in-bio tool, bio.fm is known for being the best tool to share your music via Spotify.
So if you are an up and coming musician, this might be the right choice for you.
What features does Bio.fm offer?
One of the more popular features for Bio.fm is the ability to customize the page in multiple different ways.
Unlike linktre.e, which organizes your links in a list, your page is fully customizable with different “blocks.”
The blocks can be moved and organized in a multutide of ways and allow for different layouts that may fit your liking.
Maybe a link to your socials isn’t the first thing you want your followers to see – that’s okay! Your front page can be your favorite Instagram photos, create an About Me or an FAQ, share a Youtube video, a playlist, or invite your followers to join your newsletter.
Bio.fm markets themselves as a “micro webpage” rather than a landing page, which is what linktre.e is. With the ability to create so many different themes to your link, though, micro webpage is a much more accurate title.
Signing up is free, which allows you to create your personal bio.fm link. You have some options for customization in the free version, but are very limited with choices.
You also don’t have any access to analytics or theme options without upgrading. This is a stark difference to linktre.e, which at least offers the basic analyitics to their free users.
While you can probably survive on Linktre.e’s free plan without ever having to upgrade, Bio.fm holds a lot of content back from their free plan.
By upgrading your bio link, you can add three extra blocks, track views and clicks on your content, create a custom URL, customize fonts and colors, change the background and button colors, switch between themes or create your own, remove the bio.fm logo and signup footer from your profile, schedule when your links go live, and integrate Facebook Pixel for detailed analytics.
This allows you to transform your bio into a micro-website without any coding skills. This will cost $10 USD a month, or $100 USD for the annual plan. This is the only pricing option, unlike Linktre.e that offers a few different plans depending on your need as a creator.
Here are some examples of how your bio.fm can look:
By marketing itself for individuals and creators who lack the skill to design their own website, bio.fm attracts many new and upcoming creators, so this could be perfect choice if you are just starting out.
The simplicity of bio.fm is great for those who maybe have too much on their hands to deal with the hassle of website building, but who want more than just a list of links. Bio.fm offers a great alternative to Linktre.e’s platform if you’re looking for something a little different.
However, one con of bio.fm is that you cannot sell directly from your page as is possible with Linktre.e. While you can link to your storefront, this could definitely be a downside for someone who relies on e-commerece as their main form of income.
Both options are used and trusted by thousands of creators and influencers. However, Linktre.e may have more options available for the free user, and could be a good starting point if you are new to the influencing scene and aren’t sure where to start. But if you have a creative streak, want to show off your perfectly currated Instagram feed, or are looking to showcase your music, you may be more inclined to choose Bio.fm.
