Instagram’s Head Teases New Feature: The Simple Change That Could Boost Engagement

According to a recent announcement by Adam Mosseri, the platform’s head, Instagram is developing a new feature that will allow users to add collaborators to posts after they’ve been published. This update expands on the current functionality, which only permits adding collaborators during the initial post-creation process.

When implemented, the change will align regular feed posts and stories with the recently introduced capability for Reels, where users can already add collaborators post-publication. Influencer marketing expert Lindsey Gamble has made a guide on how to leverage this feature for Reels.

Collaborative posts appear in the feeds of both the original creator and the collaborator, potentially expanding the content reach. These posts are also displayed on both users’ profiles, and collaborators gain access to likes and comments data, offering valuable insights into post-performance.

While the exact release date for this feature remains unannounced, Mosseri’s public mention suggests it’s in the pipeline.
