TikTok Influencer Alix Earle Files $1M Lawsuit Against Gymshark Over Terminated Agreement

TikTok influencer Alix Earle has filed a $1 million lawsuit against British fitness brand Gymshark, claiming the company prematurely ended their sponsorship agreement following backlash over her pro-Israel statements, reports The Telegraph.

Earle, who has 7 million TikTok followers and 4 million Instagram followers, submitted in High Court filings that Gymshark agreed to pay her $1 million for content creation, including three TikTok posts, four Instagram posts, a photo shoot, and an event appearance.

Gymshark reportedly denies signing a contract with Earle. However, according to Earle’s legal team, they have reviewed correspondence dated January 2024 in which Gymshark claims Earle breached an agreement between the parties.

The influencer, who gained prominence in 2020 for fashion and makeup content, alleges Gymshark terminated their arrangement in late 2023 after she received criticism for her “perceived stance on the Israel-Palestine conflict” following the October 7 Hamas attacks.

Earle had previously posted, Now and always, we stand with the people of Israel” on Instagram.

Social Media Comments Allegedly Influenced Decision

Court documents reference Gymshark executives expressing concern about “negative responses” to their collaboration with Earle.

As per The Telegraph, comments on social media included “Why do you have a Zionist in your ad, answer quickly” and another statement, which received over 300 likes, reading: “Not the Zionist when you have Palestinian women as part of your brand.”

Earle’s claim states that Gymshark’s complaints are not “accepted as valid” since her social media content was publicly available before the company initiated the sponsorship agreement.

Last month, Unwell Network, the production company founded by “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper, terminated its relationship with Earle’s “Hot Mess” podcast. Earle joined Unwell Network in August 2023 when Cooper launched the venture as a production platform targeting Gen Z audiences.
