BabyBillion: Cracking YouTube’s Algorithm To Build The Fastest-Growing Kids Channel Ever

When Dinesh Godara and Akshit Chaudhary launched BabyBillion in December 2023, they set a clear target – to become the world’s leading kids’ YouTube channel. Their vision has so far yielded tangible results, with 1.5 billion monthly views within just one year. The achievement is a testament to what data-driven content creation can deliver in the world of children’s entertainment.

Strategic Market Analysis Drives Success

Using insights gained from extensively researching global YouTube trends, Akshit identified a clear opportunity.

“We went through the world’s top 10 channels views-wise and saw four from the TV and music industry and five from the kids category,” explains Akshit, drawing from his seven years of YouTube expertise. What Akshit and Dinesh realized was that there was a strong market for children’s shows.

The light-bulb moment would lead to the creation of BabyBillion, a collaboration that leverages each founder’s complementary strengths. While Akshit brings deep YouTube knowledge and expertise, his co-founder Dinesh contributes vital insights from having built Asia’s largest education channel – WifiStudy, which boasts 16 million subscribers.

Their vision was only matched by their ambition – “We wanted to hit 1 billion monthly views over YouTube,” recalls Akshit.

Record-Breaking Channel Growth

BabyBillion’s expansion exceeded typical industry metrics, hitting its first 1 million subscribers within 105 days, another million in 32 days, and 2-3 million in 17-18 days. For the popular kids channel, hitting one million subscribers a week seemed like a walk in the park.

The channel’s success stems from three core principles: vision, winning team, and having the best resources. “That’s the winning formula we have used to hit 1.5 billion views monthly within one year,” Akshit notes.

In addition, the company prioritizes data analysis to ensure the channel’s success. “The most important part where most creators fail and why we succeed [is] they didn’t give much value to the data YouTube provides,” Akshit emphasizes.

Production Excellence and Quality Standards

Operating from studios in Bangalore and Mumbai, BabyBillion maintains high production standards through a team of 25+ professionals and numerous freelancers. “We have a proper team who, before we published the content, just verified at their end that this video matches the YouTube high-quality principle,” says Akshit.

Storytelling forms the foundation of their content strategy. “The basic thing was that we want to convey these stories,” Akshit explains. “Parents want to teach their kids good habits, such as sharing and caring. We wanted to speak out loud and with the power of storytelling by putting them into the right words in 40-50-second shorts.”

For rhyme-based content, they follow a structured approach: “We start with identifying the right music, what rhyme we are going to use next, defining the lyrics, music production, sound design, storyboards, and then screenplay happens.”

Nurturing Young Talent

BabyBillion takes a unique approach with child performers, focusing on genuine expression. “The most important part is, [kids] can express their feelings and emotions however they want. It should come out as per the story,” Akshit emphasizes. “Kids can be cute, but if they cannot convey the emotion in front of a camera, it doesn’t make sense to us because it’s essential.”

Their impact extends beyond performance skills: “Ask any parent who has worked with us. After three to six months, they can see a huge improvement in their kids. Not only in terms of acting skills but the overall quality skills of the kids.”

Metrics-Driven Content Strategy

The team employs platform-specific metrics, with particular attention to audience engagement. For traditional videos, Akshit explains, “The key part is the CTR first, and then the first 30 seconds matters are crucial for us… If 50% of the audience drops in the first 30 seconds, how much effort you put into the 1-minute, 2-minute, or 3-minute mark will they be unable to reach.”

Weekly data analysis sessions guide their content decisions. “Every week, our team reviews each video and accompanying data. We try replicating, and after so much back and forth, we can crack what we have grabbed now.”

Global Expansion Plans

BabyBillion’s vision encompasses significant growth, with Akshit revealing that they will be posting two shorts a day.

The company plans international expansion through multilingual content: “Currently, we are just one of our channels, and it is just available in Hindi. Imagine the power of multi-language audio tracking… we will dub our videos into 20+ languages.”

Their target? To surpass MrBeast and T-Series in monthly views and become the world’s #1 channel on YouTube in terms of monthly views by the end of December 2025, Akshit states.

The company aims to diversify beyond digital content. “Our goal is not just to become the world’s number one creator. We want to establish worldwide distribution first and launch our maybe mobile app, games, products, or toys,” Akshit shares. They’ve already partnered with Hamleys, the renowned London-based brand, marking their first major brand collaboration.

Educational Impact and Responsibility

BabyBillion recognizes its role in child development. “With great numbers comes great responsibility,” Akshit emphasizes. “When a kid starts their journey, their base foundation is built at this particular time… Our responsibility is to give them the right information and knowledge because otherwise, we will not produce great leaders in the upcoming generations.”

The success extends to building parental trust: “Our target audience is not just kids, but establishing a good trust among parents as well… winning the trust of parents is very important. If a parent does not trust your brand, it will not succeed.”
