Betweened’s Creator Program: Empowering “Living Room-Friendly Content” For Kids

Betweened, a social media platform for children founded by former Netflix executive Carla Engelbrecht, announced a new initiative to support creators of short-form kids’ and family content. The creator program, which Engelbrecht unveiled on LinkedIn, initially offers workshops, networking opportunities, and guidance on audience growth and monetization strategies for up to 25 creators.

Each participating creator receives a stipend of approximately $250, with plans to increase the number of participants and stipend frequency in the future. Betweened also seeks to secure 10 paid sponsors by the end of the year to provide additional monetization opportunities for creators.

Engelbrecht states that Betweened welcomes creators of all skill levels who produce “living room-friendly content.” The platform, which launched in November 2023, curates family-friendly content aimed at children aged four to 13. Since its inception, Betweened has attracted over 75 creators, generating more than 100,000 video streams. Notable creators on the platform include Mychal the Librarian and Sand Castle University, who have substantial followings on other platforms.

According to Engelbrecht, Betweened’s user base is growing at an average rate of 24.5% per month and is expected to reach 10,000 users by next year.
