Award-Winning Podcast Network Crowd Network Doubles Down On Video, Social Content

Crowd Network, a European podcast company, is expanding its production capabilities and hiring video producers as demand for multi-channel content from brands and audiences rises.

The expansion follows successful YouTube channel launches for its sports podcasts FC Bullard and For The Love of Rugby.

The company’s video content strategy has generated hundreds of thousands of views for long-form YouTube episodes. In contrast, its social media content has attracted tens of millions of views across platforms.

A notable success came from the We Are Chelsea podcast, launched in March 2024 for the Chelsea women’s team, which accumulated over one million views across the soccer club’s digital channels within two weeks of launch. Related TikTok content reached 50 million views during the summer of 2024.

Beyond traditional podcast production, Crowd Network offers brands comprehensive content services, including video production, social media strategy, merchandise support, and live show development. The company’s portfolio includes partnerships with organizations like Greenpeace, whose “Oceans: Life Under Water” podcast won bronze in the Climate category at the 2024 British Podcast Awards.

“We’ve seen the market undergo massive change in the last year alone,” Crowd Network CEO Mike Carr said in a press release. “Audio and video are no longer the only avenues in podcasting, but we’re now seeing a need to provide a 360 approach to working with brands to achieve successful multichannel engagement with audiences.”

A recent Acast study showed that podcast advertising is 34% more cost-effective than average media in driving brand awareness. Adding podcasts to a mix of TV and online videos can increase a campaign’s short-term ROAS by up to 18%.

Spotify reported a 64% year-over-year increase in video podcast episodes and a 78% rise in video shows in the last year and a half.
