How Formz Went From TikTok Star To F1 Performer

Formz, an artist and content creator, blends his passion for music with savvy social media strategies.

From viral freestyle videos to a headline-grabbing performance at the F1 Silverstone event, Formz is catching the attention of fans and industry players alike.

His recent successes, including collaborating with Pepsi and potential opportunities with Formula One teams, show how music, sports, and digital media interconnect.

In an exclusive interview with Net Influencer, Formz shares his story and tells us how he started social media, breaks down the Silverstone milestone, and reveals future goals.

Going Viral With The Five-Word Challenge

Formz began his journey with a passion for music at an early age. His connection with music eventually led him to pursue a career in the industry.

A turning point came when he attended a Tinie Tempah concert in 2014. Formz says he looked at that and told himself, “I have to be on that stage one day.”

This experience inspired him to start writing his music at 14, despite having no formal training.

Formz’s entry into content creation was influenced by his circle of friends, particularly his best friend Brandon B, a prominent VFX creator.

“He knew I was making music and asked me why I wasn’t posting videos online,” Formz explains. This encouragement led him to explore social media as a platform for his art.

The artist’s breakthrough came when he adapted a content format he saw on TikTok.

“I asked my mum for five random words, and the video shot to a million views, which was insane. Within 24 hours, I’d grown from 200 followers to 12,000 followers,” Formz recounts.

This success prompted him to commit to daily content creation, a strategy contributing to his growing popularity.

Formz attributes his success to a deliberate approach to content creation. “Every decision I’ve made on social media has been like a conscious one,” he states.

Formz on Handling Social Media Setbacks

Formz faced hurdles in his early days as a content creator. After experiencing initial success with his “five-word freestyle” videos, he encountered a sudden dip in viewership.

“Day 22 got like 20,000 views, which is a lot of views, but in comparison, it hit me hard,” he told us. This setback forced him to reevaluate his content strategy.

The artist’s breakthrough came when he leveraged his passion for sports, particularly soccer. “That weekend, Tottenham beat Manchester United 6:1 at Old Trafford (United’s home stadium), and Aston Villa beat Liverpool 7:2. I was like, ‘Let’s rap about it,’” Formz explains.

This pivot to sports-related content proved successful, leading to further adaptations, including Formula One-themed raps.

The rapper acknowledges the challenges of creating cross-platform content. “I’m still a baby in terms of the cross-platform voice,” he admits.

His approach prioritizes music creation over platform-specific content: “Because I’m an artist first rather than a content creator that makes music, it’s hard to sit down and dedicate the time to creating specific content for specific platforms.”

Building Trust Through Content

Formz’s approach to content creation has changed significantly since his debut. He emphasizes the importance of flexibility in the digital space: “You have to adapt to the times.”

After his initial “five-word freestyle” concept lost traction, Formz revamped it by shortening the format to three words and reducing video length.

“Posted it, 3 million views,” he recalls, demonstrating how minor adjustments can reinvigorate content.

Formz has also diversified his content, incorporating vox pops and public interactions to promote his music.

This shift has helped him transition from being known primarily as a content creator to becoming a musician.

“My favorite thing is random strangers knowing me for doing something that I love, but at the same time, I’d love for people to come up to me like, ‘I heard your new song,'” he explains.

Authenticity remains a core principle in Formz’s content strategy. “I don’t post a video if I didn’t enjoy making it,” he tells us.

Formz’s F1 Silverstone Triumph

Formz’s performance at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone remains plastered in his career resume, blending his passion for Formula One with his musical talents.

The opportunity came unexpectedly, with Silverstone reaching out via social media. “They sent me a DM and said, ‘Hey, we’ve got an exciting opportunity,’” Formz recalls in the interview.

The news of this performance opportunity deeply affected the artist. “I broke down crying, and I just couldn’t stop thinking how big it was,” he says, describing his reaction.

According to him, this moment validated his career path and creative choices.

Performing in front of 60,000 people at such a prestigious event was a dream come true for Formz. “As a Brit and a Formula One fan, it doesn’t get much better than that,” he tells us.

Despite the scale of the event, Formz felt surprisingly at ease on stage. “It just felt normal. I wasn’t nervous for a single second because, in my head, I deserved to be there,” he shares.

The experience also provided Formz with personal insights. Having his mother and best friends present added emotional depth to the occasion. “To have my mum and my best friends there with me on that day was so special,” he reflects.

In the aftermath of his performance, Formz experienced a profound sense of gratitude and clarity: “I looked around the room at my best friends and my family, and thought, ‘There is no single person I would rather be in this room than the people in this room right now.’”

The Silverstone performance boosted Formz’s professional profile and left a lasting impact on him as an artist and an individual.

Rising Profile in F1 and Music

Formz’s performance at the F1 Silverstone event has opened new doors in the Formula One and music industries.

The artist’s existing fanbase responded enthusiastically, with followers commenting, “Finally, he’s on the main stage. He deserves it.” This support underscores the strong connection Formz has built with his audience.

The performance also attracted new followers, particularly from the Formula One community.

Formz notes, “A lot of F1 fans have sent me messages, ‘Well, you’ve gained a follower, and I’ll be following your career.’”

To capitalize on this momentum, the artist strategically releases Silverstone weekend content. “I’ll be posting every single day now. And just like reminding people what happened and showing people what I can do,” he explains.

The Silverstone performance has also led to potential new opportunities. While unable to disclose specifics, Formz hints at significant developments: “My ultimate dream in life in terms of musical achievement could be happening this year based on performing at Silverstone.”

Notably, Formz’s performance has caught the attention of Formula One teams. “A couple of F1 teams have messaged me and said, ‘We saw what you did. We want to see if we can do that for our teams and events,'” he reveals.

Despite these successes, Formz remains focused on his long-term goals. “Yes, Silverstone was great and is the best moment of my career so far. But it’s only the start,” he affirms.

The Art of Feeling: New Creative Direction

Formz emphasizes the importance of aligning with brands he genuinely appreciates. “If I don’t or wouldn’t use it or wear it myself, it’s pointless,” he states.

His collaboration with Pepsi exemplifies his ideal brand relationship. “They’re very creative. First, they asked how they could help. And then they asked how they could make content surrounding that, which is a dream,” Formz explains.

He notes this partnership model allows him to maintain his artistic integrity while leveraging brand support.

Formz is also excited about his upcoming musical projects, including his first concept album. “I’m finally at that stage where I feel so strongly towards this concept that it’s time to create a project around that,” he reveals.

In terms of content creation, Formz is focusing on building narratives around his music. He’s developing content strategies for songs like “Gate 19,” creating visual stories to complement his musical work.

Core Values

Formz offers valuable advice to aspiring content creators: “Pursue your passion. If you love something, keep trying it because there will be a day when you can turn what you love into a job.”

He continues, “Trust your vision. If you’ve got a vision no one else has, take it from me; you’re the only person that needs to see it.”

The rapper also encourages others to embrace adaptation. “Understand that growth comes from being able to adapt and pivot,” he says.

Rather than focusing solely on numerical achievements, Formz now aims to evoke emotions through his art.

“My goal is to get good at giving people a feeling,” he tells us, indicating that this shift reflects a deeper understanding of his artistic purpose and a more mature approach to his career.
