Jake, Logan Paul Tease Mystery Project With HBO Max

Social media stars Jake and Logan Paul have announced a March 27 collaboration with HBO Max, sparking speculations about a potential fight between them.

“The moment you’ve waited a decade for… March 27th on @StreamOnMax,” Jake posted on X on Tuesday, following up on Wednesday with a video post of a face-off between him and Logan with the caption: “One Paul will fall. March 27th. Press conference tomorrow at 4pm ET on Instagram Live.”

ESPN cites anonymous reports that the project will be a reality series rather than a boxing bout.

From YouTube to Prize Fighting

The Paul brothers’ transition from YouTube to combat sports has generated significant revenue and viewership.

Jake Paul, 28, most recently secured an eight-round unanimous decision victory over Mike Tyson; while Logan Paul, 29, previously went the distance in an exhibition match against Floyd Mayweather in 2021.

The Tyson-Paul event set new financial benchmarks in Texas combat sports, generating $18.1 million in revenue. BetMGM reports the fight surpassed all previous boxing and mixed martial arts contests, attracting triple the usual betting volume and quadruple the monetary engagement.

The Netflix-streamed boxing match garnered an average of 108 million live viewers globally from opening to closing bell, making it the most-streamed sporting event in history, according to TVision and Netflix’s first-party metrics. The fight attracted 65 million concurrent streams worldwide, with 38 million households streaming simultaneously in the U.S. alone.

Logan Paul, who regularly performed in WWE’s premium live events and won the U.S. Championship in November 2023, announced his retirement from professional wrestling during his podcast on December 11, citing his recent transition to fatherhood as the primary reason for his departure.

Separate from the HBO Max announcement, preliminary discussions are reportedly underway for Logan Paul to face former UFC champion Conor McGregor in India, according to McGregor’s December statement about negotiations with industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s family.

The brothers’ social media posts describe the upcoming HBO Max project as “the moment you’ve waited a decade for,” accompanied by imagery featuring both siblings in a face-off pose. While their previous ventures span digital content creation, professional wrestling, and boxing exhibitions, this marks their first major streaming platform collaboration.
