MrBeast Orders Full Investigation: What’s Happening Behind YouTube’s Biggest Channel?

Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast, initiates a comprehensive assessment of his company’s internal culture amid allegations of impropriety and unsafe working conditions.

In a confidential memo obtained by The Associated Press (AP), Donaldson outlines plans for significant infrastructure changes within his organization.

The memo reveals that Donaldson has hired law firm Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan to investigate allegations against Ava Tyson, a former collaborator who left the company in July following accusations of inappropriate sexual communications with minors.

Donaldson announced plans to hire key executive positions, including a chief human resources officer, chief financial officer, and general counsel.

The company will also implement mandatory sensitivity training for all employees, covering safety, sexual harassment, LGBTQ issues, diversity, and workplace conduct.

Controversy and Success

These changes come in response to recent controversies surrounding MrBeast’s empire.

Donaldson recently acknowledged using “inappropriate language” after clips of past homophobic and racist remarks surfaced online.

Additionally, contestants on a recent production of his “Beast Games” show reported safety concerns, citing a lack of access to basic necessities on set.

MrBeast’s main YouTube channel has 309 million subscribers, and its additional channels, “Beast Reacts” and “Beast Philanthropy,” have 34 million and 25 million subscribers, respectively.

His brand extends beyond YouTube, with products like MrBeast Burger and Feastables chocolate bars available in retail stores.

Despite the controversies, MrBeast’s content continues to perform well. A spokesperson told AP that the channel’s recent video reached 100 million views faster than almost any other in its history.
