Later Appoints Ryan Bonnici As CMO To Lead Growth Initiatives
Later, an influencer marketing and social media management platform, announced the appointment of Ryan Bonnici as Chief Marketing Officer.
Bonnici, twice recognized by Forbes as one of the 50 World’s Most Influential CMOs, brings nearly two decades of marketing leadership experience from global SaaS companies including Salesforce, HubSpot, G2, and most recently Wellhub.
Bonnici joins Later during a period of executive team expansion. The company has made several leadership appointments over the past year, including Jose Segrera as Chief Financial Officer, Jamie Tischart as Chief IT Officer, Justin Withers as Chief Growth Officer, Bill Kantar as Chief Revenue Officer, and Phoebe Maclachlan as Chief Customer Officer.
Strategic Focus on Social Revenue Growth
In his new role, Bonnici will oversee brand strategy, communications, product marketing, demand generation, content creation, and community engagement. His focus includes amplifying Later’s core strengths while identifying new growth opportunities, leveraging his experience scaling teams and brands from early traction to global scale.
“Ryan’s unique blend of strategic vision and executional excellence immediately stood out,” Scott Sutton, CEO at Later, said in a press release. “His extensive experience in both B2B and B2C marketing, coupled with a proven track record of driving growth across various stages of a company’s evolution, makes him well-suited to lead marketing efforts at Later.”
Platform Performance and Recent Acquisition
Later positions itself as the leading social revenue platform, enabling brands to build social strategies, connect with creators, produce content, and measure revenue impact. The company reports generating $1.5 billion in revenue and 136 billion impressions for its customers over the past 12 months.
This appointment follows Later’s January 2025 acquisition of Mavely in a $250 million deal funded through an investment from Summit Partners. The acquisition aims to enhance how brands and creators collaborate within the platform’s ecosystem.
“Later already has every building block of the ultimate social revenue engine: influencer marketing, full social media management, link-in-bio, a massive creator network, affiliate tools and award-winning creative services,” says Bonnici. “The future of marketing is here, and we’re ready to lead it.”
