Linktree VS. Link In Bio By Later — Feature Comparison For Influencers And Creators

Which link-in-bio tool is best for content creators?

There are many different link-in-bio tools you can use. Today, we’ll be taking a look at two options, Linktree and Link in Bio by Later.

The link in your bio may be the most important part of your social profile. This is the link that could make or break you, so you want to make sure that it’s a good one.

Being constricted to only one link is tough.

Back in the day, you may have had to constantly be changing out the link each time you had a new sale going on, or a latest Youtube video you wanted your followers to watch. But these days, many different companies have created a way for you to design a single webpage that homes all those links in one.

These are called landing pages. In digital marketing terms, a landing page is a single webpage with one goal. A personalized landing page is a streamlined way to make sure your followers have all the information they need right there in front of them.

Linktree

Founded in 2016, Linktree was one of the first link-in-bio tools on the market and still continues to be a popular option for content creators today. The idea is simple – create a link for your links.

Linktree has a very simple design that appeals to many for their easy-to-use templates. Simply input your social links, and Linktree formats them into a readable, clickable list.

Even major celebrities use Linktree, such as Selena Gomez and Dwanye “The Rock” Johnson. They are the two most followed people on Instagram, which means you can trust their Linktree’s are getting major clicks.

You can take a look at their personalized Linktree’s below.

Both celebrities have taken a different approach to design. While Johnson has decided to keep it short and sweet with limited links, Gomez has a whopping fifteen different links available on her profile. The best part is, there is no wrong or right way to show off your socisal links.

What Features Does Linktree Have?

Linktree offers a range of features for free, including unlimited links, the ability to embed Tweets, Facebook, Twitch, or Youtube videos,  integration with TikTok, the option to receive payments through Paypal and Square, and limited analytics.

This includes data on unique clicks, click location, and click-through rate. You can easily track your engagement, monitor revenue, and discover what your statistics have been for the past month.

You can even integrate payment tools such as Paypal, Square or Shopify if you have an online business. That way you can easily track the sales you make via your link.

However, in order to gain access to more exclusive content, you will need to subscribe to the premium plans.

The starter plan is $5 USD a month and comes with more customization options, the ability to schedule posts, and spotlight a link that you want your followers to see more than the others.

The pro plan is $9 USD and is Linktree’s VIP plan. You are given unlimited themes, in-depth analyitics, the ability to remove linktree’s branding, and more customer support.

The premium plan is $24 USD a month, and is designed for larger businesses. While you are allowed access to exclusive content and given exclusive support, individual creators, influencers and small businesses probably will only need to stick to the pro.

Link in Bio by Later

Link in Bio, created by the social media marketing company Later, is a “mini webpage” link-in-bio tool. Later was founded in 2014 and has been one of the most successful social media marketing platforms.

They are partnered directly with Instagram and Pinterest. Some major brands that use Later are MeUndies, Patagonia, USA Today, Showtime, Fast Company, and The Wall Street Journal.

Entrepreneur has even listed Later in 10 Instagram Tools To Help Build Your Following.

So clearly, this is a company to be trusted. Now that they’ve thrown their hat into the link-in-bio ring, what sort of features does Link In Bio offer?

Customization:

You can customize your Link in Bio with your choice of background colors, fonts, custom images as well as have a light or dark theme.

Link in Bio has two design options — for Instagram or for TikTok profiles.

(The one downside is that you have to have over one thousand TikTok followers to have a link in your bio, whereas Instagram allows accounts of any size to insert a link into your bio.)

You can even create a Featuted Banner for if there is one specific product or post you want to promote more than the others – sort of like Linktree’s spotlight link.

Here is what your Later dashboard will look like –

Most of these features are blocked if you don’t sign up for the premium plans, but you can still create and customize your link in bio without the payment plans.

Track your Audience

With advanced analyitics, Link in Bio promises you will be able to grow and track your audience. When you are sending your followers to external links, it can be hard to keep track of all that data, so Linktree has you covered.

You can add up to 5 links per Instagram post and use their Shopify integration feature to track revenue.
