Logan Paul Announces WWE Exit
Social media personality and WWE superstar Logan Paul announced his retirement from professional wrestling during his podcast on December 11, citing his recent transition to fatherhood as the primary reason for his departure.
“I’m retired. I’m a dad, bro,” Paul stated on the “IMPAULSIVE” podcast, marking an apparent end to his WWE career that began in 2022. The announcement comes after his last WWE appearance in August 2023, where he lost the United States Championship to LA Knight, concluding a 273-day reign as his only title victory in the company.
Paul’s declaration arrives at a notable moment for WWE as the company prepares for WrestleMania 41, scheduled for April 19 and 20 at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium. His retirement announcement emerged in response to questions about his potential involvement in the event.
Prior to this announcement, Paul had mentioned his attendance at a Netflix event with WWE, coinciding with the company’s move to broadcast its flagship show “Monday Night RAW” on the streaming platform starting January 2024. This collaboration follows Paul’s connection to Netflix through his brother Jake’s recent boxing match against Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium, which drew 65 million viewers.
Despite his limited experience, Paul gained recognition for his quick adaptation to professional wrestling, delivering notable performances in high-profile matches. His wrestling career pause comes after welcoming his first child with fiancee Nina Agdal in September.
Given Paul’s history of surprise appearances in WWE, the Daily Mail notes that this retirement announcement could potentially mask plans for an unexpected return.
