UK Startup Snags Canadian Podcast Producer Pacific Content
UK-based podcast production agency Lower Street announced in a news release that it has acquired Canadian podcast producer Pacific Content for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in Somerset, England, in 2017 by Harry Morton, Lower Street operates with a fully remote team of 29 people and has clients like Adobe, PepsiCo, and Hewlett-Packard Enterprise.
“[Pacific Content’s] podcasts were legendary – super-creative, expertly produced, and showed a real understanding of cultivating and growing passionate audiences,” Morton stated in the news release.
Morton views the acquisition as accelerating Lower Street’s growth and advancing the branded podcast industry.
Steve Pratt, founder of Pacific Content, expresses confidence in the merger: “I’m consistently impressed with how thoughtful [Morton] is about building the Lower Street culture and team and how generous he is in publicly sharing his thinking and strategy with the marketing and podcast industries.”
Several Pacific Content employees will join Lower Street in the coming weeks as part of the transition.
The full-service podcast production agency focused on creating “binge-worthy episodic shows” for brands to build relationships with key audiences sees this approach as the future of content marketing.
In November 2023, Lower Street announced it helped its client show, “The Breakout,” soar to #7 on the Apple Podcasts Charts.
“Harry and his expert squad at Lower Street engineered an impressive audience growth strategy for our show, propelling us to a mind-blowing 16,730% increase in downloads and hitting a #7 spot on the Apple Podcast Charts,” said Dr. Keri Ohlrich, The Breakout host.
