MrBeast Acquires Vouch, A LinkedIn-Like Platform For Creators

Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast on YouTube, has acquired Vouch, a startup that facilitates hiring in the creator economy.

The acquisition expands Donaldson’s business portfolio, which generates an estimated $700 million annually.

Vouch, founded by former Cameo employee Marty Pesis, enables creators to build hiring sites and post job openings. The platform allows candidates to create profiles showcasing their skills and past collaborations with creators, similar to LinkedIn’s professional networking model.

“Hiring in the creator economy presents distinct challenges,” Pesis said in a press release. “Our platform streamlines the process, helping creators navigate a large pool of applicants to find the ideal fit quickly and efficiently.”

Donaldson, who boasts 318 million subscribers across his YouTube channels, plans to use Vouch for his own hiring efforts. Other prominent creators, including Yes Theory, Safiya Nygaard, and Danny Duncan, have already utilized the platform for job postings.

Vouch’s features include an AI-powered recommendation engine for matching candidates with creators, tools for targeted job posts, and customizable career pages.

“Adding Vouch to the mix allows us to further support the team and enhance the hiring process in a way the industry has never seen,” stated Kara McCloud, Head of Talent at MrBeast. “We couldn’t have done that without the software developed by Vouch!”

Pesis brings experience scaling Cameo’s marketing and B2B efforts. He pointed out that hiring in the creator economy often requires multitalented individuals, particularly for video editing roles.

Prior to the acquisition, Vouch received backing from several venture capital firms, including Seven Seven Six and Liquid 2 Ventures. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Recently, a 36-page handbook detailing the methods and expectations Donaldson set for his company’s operations leaked, drawing controversy to the popular YouTuber.

MrBeast, Amazon, and associated production companies face legal action from contestants of the upcoming Beast Games series. Court documents allege unsafe conditions, unpaid labor, and sexual harassment during the production of what was billed as the “world’s largest live gameshow.”
