NAB Launches Creator Council To Amplify Voices In Media & Entertainment Industry

The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced the launch of the NAB Creator Council, a new advisory group designed to amplify creators’ voices and shape the organization’s engagement with the creator community.

The announcement was made during the 2025 NAB Show, which concluded on April 9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The council brings together influential creators and thought leaders to provide strategic guidance to NAB in support of the creator economy.

Founding members include Dylan Huey (CEO of REACH), Shira Lazar (founder/CEO of “What’s Trending” and “Creators 4 Mental Health”), Nicki Sun (CEO, Host + Creative Director, Nicki Sun Media), Travis W Keyes (Photographer/Filmmaker), and Blair Imani (Creator and Host, “Smarter in Seconds”).

“The creator economy is not just reshaping the entertainment and media industries—it’s completely redefining how content is created, distributed, and consumed,” stated Karen Chupka, NAB EVP of Global Connections and Events. “With the launch of the NAB Creator Council, we’re not just inviting creators to the table, we’re empowering them to drive real change.”

Huey emphasized the importance of “bridging the gap between traditional media and digital creators,” while Lazar noted that “creators have been looking for support—from small business resources to protections—and this council ensures our voices are heard.”

The Creator Council will provide feedback on NAB membership offerings, including business benefits and opportunities within the NAB Show. This input will help shape creator engagement at future NAB events, including the upcoming NAB Show New York, scheduled for October 22-23, 2025.

NAB has announced that the 2026 NAB Show will be held April 18-22, 2026, with exhibits running April 19-22 in Las Vegas.
