NFL Searching For A VP Of Influencer & Creator Marketing To Expand Reach, Fanbase

The National Football League (NFL) is searching for a Global Vice President of Influencer and Creator Marketing based in New York. The position aims to drive engagement with priority audiences worldwide, including casual fans, youth, and women, according to a job posting from the league.

Strategic Focus on New Audiences

The role centers on building partnerships with influencers, content creators, and celebrities to expand the NFL’s global reach. The selected executive will develop and execute strategies to connect with Gen Z, Gen A, and emerging audiences through “innovative, culturally relevant, and authentic collaborations,” the posting states.

The NFL specifies that the position requires collaboration with content marketing, social media, brand, sponsorship, events, and international teams to integrate influencer programs within broader marketing initiatives.

Content Creation Across Multiple Platforms

The job involves driving engagement on platforms, including TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, and emerging channels. The league expects the executive to ensure that influencer-generated storytelling aligns with NFL brand guidelines while maintaining an authentic appeal and maximizing creative impact.

The role includes partnering with analytics teams to measure content performance and optimize impact for both the league and creators.

Global Expansion and Team Leadership

According to the posting, the position supports international teams with regional trends, platforms, and cultural considerations. The executive will collaborate across markets to ensure cohesive messaging while managing a team of marketing professionals and budgets to achieve global objectives.

Qualifications and Compensation

The NFL requires candidates to have a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field, with a master’s preferred. The position demands 11+ years of experience in influencer marketing or creator partnerships, with established relationships across the creator industry.

The role offers a salary range of $215,000 to $300,000 and requires 20-30% travel, primarily domestic. The league emphasizes that in-person work at NFL offices is mandatory, with no remote or hybrid options available.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience in sports or entertainment and relationships with high-profile influencers, creators, and agents.

The NFL notes that the position aligns with its core values of respect, integrity, team responsibility, and resiliency and requires leadership attributes such as talent development, execution skills, and business acumen.

In an interview with Net Influencer late last year, Ian Trombetta, the NFL’s SVP of Social, Influencer/Creator & Content Marketing, revealed the league’s plans to expand its creator initiatives, particularly around major events.

“You’ll see more live Creator activations from a wide variety of brands and partners, as well as from us,” Trombetta stated, noting that “some of our top performing posts ever in the history of the NFL involve creators and influencers.”

According to Trombetta, “Social media and creators are often the conduits to do that with younger fans. Hopefully, we can expose them to our players, teams, games, and partners and do it in ways relevant for today’s day and age versus trying to force maybe an older technique or device to engage those young fans.”
