YouTube’s AI Crackdown Gone Wrong? Creator Loses 21 Channels And $45K Overnight
YouTube creator Oliver Gilpin reports that 21 of his channels have been automatically banned by the platform, potentially resulting in a $45,142 loss if the situation remains unresolved.
21 of my channels just got auto-banned by YouTube.

This is surreal.
I will lose $45,142 if this is not solved by @TeamYouTube pic.twitter.com/L6T9bKsKRo
The incident began on June 21 when YouTube banned an inactive channel created by Gilpin’s team a year ago. The channel, @Artificialidiocracy, featured AI-generated voices of U.S. Presidents engaging in satirical content, which Gilpin describes as “purely entertainment” and “nothing partisan.”
Following the initial ban, YouTube proceeded to shut down five more channels on June 23. After Gilpin submitted appeals for these channels, the platform banned an additional 15 channels in a single day. The affected channels include SolarBalls Brasil, Korea, and Chinese versions.
Gilpin states he has invested $45,142 over the past seven months in preparing five new brands for launch, describing them as “TV and streaming quality.” The bans have disrupted these launch plans and affected his business partners.
According to Gilpin, YouTube has notified him that he cannot create new channels in the future. He reports that he has been unsuccessful in appeals and attempts to resolve the issue through Senior Partner Managers over a three-week period.
Gilpin is now seeking public support, asking followers to tag @TeamYouTube and @YouTubeLiaison in an effort to resolve the situation. He emphasizes that while he has no intention to harm the platform’s image, he feels compelled to make his case public due to the financial impact and lack of resolution.
