People’s Choice Podcast Awards For Women Opens July 31 – Here’s How To Enter

The Women in Podcasting Network has announced its inaugural Women in Podcasting Awards, set to begin on July 31, 2024. This international competition aims to recognize English-speaking women and non-binary podcasters, broadcasters, and expert guests.

The awards process consists of two phases. In the first phase, running until July 31, participants can nominate their own podcasts, broadcasts, or themselves as expert guests for a $10 fee per category. The second phase, from August 1 to October 1, involves public voting to determine winners.

Eligibility requirements include having at least five published episodes, with at least one released in 2024. Podcasts must have a publicly accessible RSS feed, while a separate category exists for broadcasts without RSS feeds. Expert guests must have appeared on at least five podcasts.

The organizers emphasize community building and audience engagement as key benefits of participation. Nominees are expected to promote their nominations and encourage audience voting through social media and email lists.

Winners will be announced on October 22, 2024, following an online awards ceremony on October 18. Category sponsors, who pay $75-$125 depending on registration date, will present awards to winners during this event.

According to the announcement, the awards give participants visibility, credibility, and networking opportunities. Organizers state that the people’s choice format was chosen to foster collaboration and authentic connections within the podcasting community.

To prevent fraudulent voting, the event will implement a double opt-in system for voters. Organizers retain the right to disqualify entries for various reasons, including hate speech, violence, or the use of automated voting mechanisms.
