How to Sign Up to Be a Sephora Beauty Insider

The Sephora Beauty Insider is completely free for anyone to join, and they even have an app you can download onto your smartphone. This makes gaining access to all of your points and rewards much easier. 

All you need to do to sign up to be a Sephora Beauty Insider is go to Sephora’s website and click the “sign in” button in the top, righthand corner. Then, you’ll see an option to create an account. Sephora will ask you for some basic personal information, and then you’re all set to start receiving points and exclusive offers. 

How to Earn Beauty Insider Points

When you make a purchase from Sephora either in-store or online and use your email address associated with your Beauty Insider account, you earn 1 point per $1 spent. On special occasions, Sephora will have point multiplier events when Beauty Insiders can earn double the points they would have earned normally. 

All products are eligible for receiving points, as long as it’s sold by Sephora. Points also count when shopping at a Sephora in Kohl’s and using a shopping service, as long as you provide your email address associated with your account for your order. 

Points are not earned on gift cards, e-gift cards, shipping subscriptions, Sephora event tickets, and additional taxes on your purchase.

What happens to my points if I refund an item?

If you refund a product to Sephora, they will deduct the number of points that the product earned you from your account. For this reason, your account may have a negative point balance if you’ve used all of your points within that time period.

How do I achieve VIB or Rouge status?

In order to achieve VIB status, you must at least spend $350 within a calendar year. In order to achieve Rouge status, you must spend at least $1,000 within a calendar year. When you hit either of these benchmarks, your account will automatically be upgraded to the higher status, and you’ll be able to start receiving those perks.

How does Beauty Insider Cash work?

All Sephora Beauty Insiders, regardless of status, are able to use Beauty Insider cash for a discount on their purchase. Currently, you can trade in 500 of your points for $10 off your purchase of $10 or greater. This perk can only be used once per transaction.

What is a Rouge Reward?

When you achieve Rouge status, you are eligible to receive a Rouge reward. To get this reward, you must exchange 2,500 of your points for a non-transferable $100 reward. This can be used both online and in stores, and it must be used within 90 days of getting the confirmation email with your reward. This reward cannot be used in conjunction with any other special discounts or offers.

Do points expire?

Sephora encourages Beauty Insiders to keep using their points to gain access to all of the special offers and discounts they provide. Because of this, points do expire after a Beauty Insider is inactive for 12 months. If your membership is ever revoked or canceled, your points will also automatically expire.

How can I redeem my birthday gift?

As stated in the chart above, Beauty Insider members have 5 options to choose from for their birthday gift, while VIB and Rouge members have 6 options to choose from. You must redeem your birthday gift within the month of your birthday, and you can do it either online or in stores.

If you want to do it online, you must purchase at least 1 product, and your gift will be available when you go to check out. If you want to do it in person, provide a Sephora team member with the email address associated with your account, and they will give you options to choose from. When you do it in person, no additional purchase is necessary.
