Why SiriusXM Is Investing $125M In Alex Cooper And ‘Call Her Daddy’

SiriusXM announced a new multi-year agreement with Alex Cooper, host of the popular podcast “Call Her Daddy,” set to begin rolling out in 2025.

The deal grants SiriusXM exclusive advertising and distribution rights for Cooper’s flagship podcast and her Unwell Network’s lineup of shows.

This includes content, events, and global ad sales rights for both audio and video editions of “Call Her Daddy” and other Unwell Network podcasts such as “Hot Mess with Alix Earle” and “Pretty Lonesome with Madeline Argy.”

“Alex’s fearless, unfiltered approach perfectly aligns with the content that SiriusXM subscribers have come to love and expect from us,” SiriusXM President & CCO Scott Greenstein said in a press release.

He emphasized SiriusXM’s ability to introduce Cooper to new listeners while serving her core fanbase with new content.

“I am beyond excited to work with SiriusXM,” Alex Cooper said in the release. “The Daddy Gang will always be my top priority, and with SiriusXM, we will continue to find new ways to evolve and provide my listeners with the best experience.”

Sources familiar with the terms have told CNN that the deal is valued at $125 million over three years.

Alex Cooper’s Presence in Podcasting

Cooper, hailed by TIME Magazine as “arguably the most successful woman in podcasting,” has built a massive following since launching “Call Her Daddy” in 2018.

The podcast consistently ranks among the most-listened-to worldwide, attracting millions of listeners per episode and earning the top spot for women on Spotify globally.

The SiriusXM deal follows the company’s recent acquisition of other popular podcasts, including “SmartLess” with Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes, in a $100 million deal earlier this year.

Per CNN’s report, SiriusXM’s continued investment in podcasting contrasts with Spotify’s recent staff cuts and struggles with celebrity podcast deals.

For Cooper, this deal reportedly more than doubles her previous agreement with Spotify, worth $60 million over three years.

Despite the change in advertising rights, “Call Her Daddy” and the Unwell Network will remain available on Spotify, where most of its listeners currently reside.
