Eventbrite Teams Up With TikTok To  Boost Local And Independent Event Creators

TikTok announced a partnership with Eventbrite, the global events marketplace. This partnership enables event creators to promote their events and sell tickets directly through the social media platform.

The partnership allows any TikTok user or Eventbrite creator to add event links to their TikTok videos. This feature enables the TikTok community to access event details and purchase tickets without leaving the app, potentially increasing ticket sales and event visibility.

“We’re giving creators a simple way to jump into trending conversations and bring online communities together in real life through events they’re passionate about,” stated Ted Dworkin, Eventbrite’s Chief Product Officer.

The new feature offers several benefits for event organizers:

  1. Users can add multiple event links to a single video, with TikTok displaying the most relevant event based on the viewer’s location.
  2. Any TikTok user, regardless of whether they are an event creator, can add Eventbrite links to their videos, potentially amplifying event promotion across diverse audiences.
  3. The partnership aims to help smaller events gain significant exposure, potentially fostering a more diverse event landscape.

Isaac Bess, Global Head of Distribution Partnerships at TikTok, emphasized the alignment between the two platforms: “TikTok is a global community of over a billion people who share their real-world joy, passions, and experiences with other like-minded users. Eventbrite has the same ultimate goal: to connect communities.”

The feature is available in all countries where both TikTok and Eventbrite operate. Eligible events must be in-person, publicly listed on Eventbrite, have paid tickets, and occur within the next 90 days (or 180 days for music events).

TikTok states this partnership potentially opens new opportunities for its fan communities, such as #BookTok, #NewMusic, and #FoodTok, to discover and participate in real-life experiences that align with their interests.
