TikTok’s Music Discovery Tool Welcomes Deezer
TikTok has added Deezer as a new partner for its Add to Music App feature, expanding the music discovery tool’s reach to millions more users.
The integration allows music fans to save songs they discover on TikTok directly to their Deezer playlists.
The Add to Music App feature displays an “Add Song” button next to track names at the bottom of TikTok videos in the For You Feed. Users can access this feature from videos and artists’ Sound Detail Pages. When users first interact with the button, they can select Deezer as their preferred streaming service, becoming the default destination for future track saves.
“Add to Music App has already been responsible for hundreds of millions of track saves and billions more streams on music streaming services,” said Michael Kümmerle, Global Head of Music Partnership Development at TikTok, in a news release.
“Discovering a new favorite song is a magical moment and we’re dedicated to helping Deezer users hold on to that experience,” added Matthieu Gorvan, Deezer’s Chief Product & Technology Officer. “By creating a seamless integration between Deezer and social platforms, we help fans turn brief encounters with music into lasting connections.”
TikTok also recently introduced Share to TikTok, a feature that enables users to share music, podcasts, and audiobooks directly from Apple Music and Spotify on social media platforms. The company pulled the shutters on its TikTok Music app on November 28.
These music tools come amid reports that TikTok’s competitor, Meta, is developing a feature with Spotify to allow continuous music sharing on Instagram.
