TikTok’s ‘Short ‘N Sweet’ Surprise: Sabrina Carpenter’s 19M Followers Are Getting An Exclusive Album Experience
TikTok has launched a new in-app experience called “Short ‘N Sweet” to promote Sabrina Carpenter’s upcoming sixth studio album.
The global initiative aims to engage Carpenter’s 19.1 million followers and broader TikTok users through interactive features and exclusive content.
The “Short ‘N Sweet” experience allows users to participate in five interactive tasks.
Completing these tasks grants access to an exclusive profile frame and a chance to be featured in the official Fan Spotlight carousel.
TikTok introduced a custom effect for the album, available exclusively through the in-app experience.
Users can access the features by searching “Short n’ Sweet” or “Sabrina Carpenter” on the platform or interacting with video anchors on Carpenter’s content.
Carpenter, active on TikTok since 2019, has accumulated 274.4 million likes across her content.
According to the blog post, her recent track “Espresso” generated 1.2 million creator videos, while “Please, Please, Please” inspired over 6.3 million creator videos, amassing 25 billion views.
The platform reports that “Please, Please, Please” ranks sixth on TikTok’s Songs of the Summer 2024 list, indicating strong user engagement with Carpenter’s music.
Go-To Platform for Music Discovery
This initiative follows TikTok’s trend of partnering with musicians for album promotions, leveraging the platform’s user base for music discovery and engagement.
TikTok’s “Songs of the Summer” list reflects the platform’s global reach, featuring tracks from various genres and regions.
According to the company’s main music executive, Ole Obermann, the list is proof that both new and emerging artists of every genre, from anywhere in the world, can connect with over a billion music fans TikTok every day, build their careers, and impact music culture.
The company recently launched the #F1TRILLION in-app experience to promote Post Malone’s debut country album, “F-1 Trillion.”
In June, TikTok launched “Off the Record,” a series that gives fans an inside look at the creative process behind the latest albums from some of the biggest names in music, such as Charli XCX, Meghan Trainor, Bleachers, Shakira, Camila Cabello, and Peso Pluma.
TikTok unveiled “Fan Spotlight” in May, allowing artists to showcase their favorite fan videos on their music tab. Billie Eilish premiered Fan Spotlight as part of her #HITMEHARDANDSOFT takeover on TikTok to promote her new album.
