Turtle Conservation To Eco-Cruises: 9 Media Influencers Uncover Melaka’s Hidden Gems
On Tuesday, Tourism Malaysia unveiled a four-day program for nine media influencers to explore Melaka’s diverse attractions. The program, which ran from July 2 to 5, 2024, was designed to boost domestic tourism as part of the Year of Visiting Melaka 2024 initiative. It showcases the state’s historical, ecological, and cultural offerings.
The itinerary included visits to the Padang Kemunting Turtle Conservation & Information Center, which records the highest sea turtle landings in Peninsular Malaysia. Participants experienced the Sungai Linggi Eco-Cruise, a new attraction launched in early 2024, offering a three-hour journey along the Linggi River.
The tour featured stays at The Arjana Resort and Coco Journey, Melaka’s first resort-style village stay. Coco Journey offered luxury accommodations surrounded by 2,100 coconut and avocado trees.
Participants visited Klebang Beach and the Ox Cart Making Workshop in Kampung Tambak Bugis, where they met the state’s only traditional bullock cart maker and repairer. The program also included tours of three recently gazetted islands: Pulau Undan, Pulau Dodol, and Pulau Nangka.
Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, stated in the announcement, “This program is a sincere effort to introduce Melaka as a superior domestic tourism destination. We hope that influencers can share their experiences through this visit and attract more tourists to visit interesting places in Melaka.”
Tourism Malaysia expects the media influencers to share their experiences, potentially attracting more visitors to Melaka’s diverse attractions.
