TwitchCon San Diego Unveils 20+ Interactive Experiences
Twitch announced more than 20 interactive experiences for its upcoming TwitchCon event in San Diego, scheduled for September 20-22, 2024.
The convention, which will take place at the San Diego Convention Center, features a range of activities designed to engage both in-person attendees and online viewers.
Presenting sponsors AT&T Inc., Capcom Co. Ltd., Chevron Corporation, and Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. will offer brand activations throughout the event.
On the Gaming Front
The expo hall includes an Indie Game Zone showcasing titles from developers such as The Behemoth and Variable State.
Competitive gaming events feature prominently, with Games Done Quick Express 2024 hosting speedrunning competitions. Peloton Interactive Inc. presents a LaneBreak Challenge, allowing participants to win prizes while raising funds for charity.
ASMR, Guilds, Creator Camp
TwitchCon introduces new spaces this year, including a Lo-Fi Lounge with a silent disco and live performances from ASMR creators.
A PowerUp Lounge caters to attendees in cosplay or drag, providing outfit repair services and makeup refreshment areas. The Twitch Unity Guild Lounge offers networking opportunities for guild leaders and members.
The Twitch Rivals Arena, presented by State Farm, will host three days of competitive events. State Farm provides a VIP experience for select attendees, including premium seating and a special entrance.
The convention will offer skill-building opportunities for content creators. Creator Camp sessions will cover topics such as community growth and brand partnerships.
Cars and Tech
Honda Motor Co. Ltd. will unveil a customized Civic Sedan Hybrid at the event, which will be given to a community member.
The Streamer Station, powered by Streamlabs, will allow creators to test new Streamlabs Desktop features and Logitech G hardware.
TwitchCon will also feature community-focused areas, including meetups, live podcasts, and game shows. Interactive sessions will offer tutorials on topics ranging from makeup application to improvisation techniques.
TwitchCon’s Reach
At TwitchCon Rotterdam, the company unveiled Creator Clubs, which allow streamers to connect over shared interests.
Members gain access to a dedicated Discord server offering resources, support channels, and toolboxes focused on monetization, engagement, and content development strategies.
The live-streaming video platform introduced the semi-annual TwitchCon convention in San Francisco in 2015.
Twitch claims to reach an average of 35 million visitors to the site daily, citing its 2023 internal data. The data shows over 70% of its audience is in the 18-35 age range.
