In an exclusive interview with Net Influencer, Tyler details his story, authentic storytelling, strategic content creation, and savvy brand partnerships.

Breaking into the Creator Economy

Tyler’s journey into content creation began as a casual pursuit on TikTok but has since turned into a full-fledged career spanning multiple social media platforms.

“I’ve always been such a big content consumer,” Tyler tells us. “Growing up, I never really thought it was realistic [to become a content creator], to be honest.”

However, the advent of platforms like TikTok changed his perspective, offering unprecedented opportunities for aspiring creators.

Tyler’s breakthrough came in February when he committed to a daily posting schedule with a strategic approach.

The content creator’s success is rooted in his ability to develop a repeatable formula that resonates with audiences.

“If you have a repeatable formula, that will work almost every time,” Tyler notes. “You just have to keep making that content, and it will do well.”

Humor plays a central role in his content strategy. “When I was younger, I was a little awkward and shy. And my way of communicating with people is just through humor,” he shares.

Tyler’s expansion beyond TikTok to platforms like Instagram, YouTube, and Snapchat has validated his content’s appeal.

“When I started to create content on other sites, people were still there to watch it. I was like, okay, like people resonate with the content and enjoy watching it,” he tells us.

Despite his success, Tyler acknowledges the challenges inherent in content creation, particularly self-doubt. “You just have to keep pushing and find what works,” he advises aspiring creators.

Crafting Relatable Content

Tyler has developed a consistent format for his videos, focusing on three main visual themes: eating, shaving, or storytelling while moving around.

According to him, this framework provides a familiar setting for his audience while allowing for creative flexibility in the content.

Relatability is at the core of Tyler’s content strategy.

“I want to be relatable. I feel like that’s what works,” he explains.

To achieve this, Tyler draws inspiration from his life experiences, adapting them to resonate with his audience. His process involves scripting and revising before filming, ensuring each video is polished and engaging.

Tyler highlights authenticity in his work.

“From the beginning, I always wanted to make sure that if I were to gain a following, it was from who I am, not like a character that I’m not like in real life,” he states.

What distinguishes Tyler in his niche is his storytelling ability.

“You have to be able to display your life in the content in an interesting way to the audience,” he notes.

Tyler believes he can make even mundane events, such as a trip to the grocery store, captivating content.

Ultimately, the creator aims to create a sense of intimacy with his audience.

“I want to be that person [where] the audience feel like I’m just their friend and they just have a FaceTime call,” he says, adding that it helped him build a loyal following that views him not as a relatable peer.

Audience Engagement

Tyler actively leverages viewer feedback to refine and adapt his content, creating a collaborative relationship with his followers.

“I love to engage with them because I feel blessed,” he says. The creator appreciates his audience’s humor in the comments section, often playing with recurring jokes about his content.

This interaction goes beyond mere entertainment.

Tyler uses audience feedback to improve content. “If I’m not eating in a video, they’ll be like, ‘Why aren’t you eating?’ And I get the message: I’ll eat in the next video,” he explains.

Tyler recognizes the importance of catering to his audience’s preferences.

“If you’re not making content they don’t like, no one’s going to watch,” he noted, adding that “this audience-centric approach has proven effective” for him.

Platform-Specific Strategies

“Every platform prefers a little bit different content,” Tyler observes.

He notes that while similar content can be posted across platforms, the audience response varies.

For instance, the social media star finds Instagram users particularly value comments and engagement, prompting him to create content that sparks conversation.

Tyler’s approach to YouTube, where he’s still establishing his presence, has been repurposing content that has proven successful on TikTok.

“I’ve just posted content similar to TikTok there, and that’s worked. So I just kept going with that,” he explains.

Tyler primarily relies on TikTok for content inspiration. He monitors current trends and successful content on the platform and adapts these insights into his work.

Looking ahead, Tyler is exploring new platforms and formats.

The influencer recently began posting on Snapchat and plans to create long-form content on YouTube, intending to document his upcoming college experience.

Storytelling Over Selling

While brand deals currently form most of his income, Tyler is strategic in his collaborations, prioritizing alignment with his personal brand and audience interests.

“I just want to ensure that I’m staying true to the audience,” Tyler explains. “If it’s not something that aligns with me, I won’t take it.”

The selective approach ensures that his content remains genuine and valuable to his followers rather than becoming a mere advertising platform.

Tyler’s strategy for brand integrations focuses on storytelling rather than direct promotion.

“I always think it’s great to tell a story and implement that brand or product into the story, rather than just like a straight-up ad commercial,” he says.

Tyler is exploring more sustainable revenue streams. He’s developing his brand inspired by the audience’s interest in his skincare routine.

“People from the beginning have always asked about my skin,” he notes. “I wanted to start a project that I aligned with there.”

Interestingly, Tyler has chosen to refrain from joining TikTok’s Creator Fund to maintain the integrity of his content.

“I haven’t joined it because I don’t want to force my content to be like a minute long so I can get monetized,” he tells us. “I want to create the best content and see where that goes.”

Consistency and Community

For Tyler, the most rewarding aspect of being a creator is the community he’s built.

“I love engaging even when it’s mean comments or something,” he says. “I feel blessed to have a platform where people care about what I say or do.”

Drawing from his experience, Tyler emphasizes the importance of strategy in content creation.

“It is much easier to build sustainability if you have a strategy with your content,” he advises.

The TikToker recommends analyzing successful posts to understand what resonates with the audience and consistently implementing those elements.

Tyler’s primary advice for aspiring creators is unwavering consistency. Consistent posting allows creators to identify what works and refine their approach over time.

Ultimately, Tyler encourages creators to invest in themselves. “It may not seem like anything’s working, but the best investment you can always make is into yourself,” he concludes.
