Volvik Taps Golf Influencer Coach Rusty To Aid Breast Cancer Research
Volvik USA, Inc., a golf ball manufacturer, announced a collaboration with social media influencer Ryan Rustand, known as Coach Rusty, to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF).
The partnership aims to engage the predominantly male golfing community in breast cancer awareness. Volvik reports that over 70% of golfers are men, yet breast cancer affects both genders directly or indirectly.
Coach Rusty, a former golf instructor and trick-shot artist, plans to create a unique piece of art by swinging paint-covered golf balls onto a canvas. For each dollar donated, he will make one swing. The finished artwork will be auctioned at the end of October, with all proceeds going to BCRF.
“I can already tell several of my friends are going to challenge me with $1,000 donations to see me sweat this out in 1,000 swings,” Rustand said in a news release.
Volvik has provided a donation link for the campaign. Supporters can follow Coach Rusty’s progress on his Instagram account, including live streams and the final auction.
The BCRF, founded in 1993, funds research on breast cancer prevention, diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and metastasis. Volvik states that BCRF-funded researchers have been behind every breakthrough in these areas since the foundation’s inception.
