Wasserman Strengthens Creator Division With Long Haul Management Acquisition
Wasserman, a global sports, music, and entertainment company, has acquired Long Haul Management, a digital-first talent representation firm.
Long Haul’s CEO and founder, Dan Levitt, joins Wasserman as Senior Vice President of the Creators division.
Levitt’s background includes Big Frame, Disney, and Columbia Records roles. He will continue to work from Los Angeles.
“Dan is one of the original founding members of the creator representation business, and we are thrilled he decided to bring his knowledge, leadership, and creator advocacy to Wasserman,” Jason Ranne, Wasserman’s President of Global Talent, said in a news release.
The acquisition brings Long Haul’s staff and clients into Wasserman Creators, the talent representation division launched in October 2023.
Levitt, who established Long Haul in 2013, intends to “unlock larger opportunities for our clients” while continuing to empower creators.
From Gaming to Sports & Lifestyle
Long Haul’s decade-long focus has been helping clients with substantial social media followings develop sustainable and diverse media businesses.
The company has been signing creators in emerging content verticals, initially concentrating on gaming before expanding into sports and lifestyle.
Long Haul has played a significant role in the creator sports space, facilitating partnerships with organizations such as the NBA, House of Highlights, and Overtime.
New Wasserman Creators clients include MatPat, creator of the ‘Theorist’ YouTube channels with over 40 million subscribers.
Other notable additions are streetball player The Professor, Madden gamer MMG, trickshot performer Tristan Jass, sports and lifestyle creator Crissa Jackson, gaming news brand Gameranx, and basketball player Cam Wilder.
Expanding Amid Controversy
Wasserman’s recent acquisition activity includes notable purchases such as Brillstein Entertainment Partners in 2023 and Paradigm’s music division in 2021.
The latter deal brought high-profile clients to Wasserman, including singer Billie Eilish. However, Eilish recently parted ways with the company and moved to WME.
This transition occurred following a Daily Mail report in August, which outlined allegations of sexual misconduct against Casey Wasserman, chairperson of the Wasserman Media Group, involving multiple women.
