Yahoo Taps Joe Pompliano To Break Down Sports Business In New Weekly Podcast
Yahoo Finance and Yahoo Sports are launching a new weekly podcast focused on sports business analysis, partnering with industry expert Joe Pompliano.
The “Yahoo Finance Sports Report with Joe Pompliano” debuts October 24 across major streaming platforms.
“Each episode will look beyond the top headlines, analyzing all the need-to-know news in the sports world: the teams, the trades, the billion-dollar deals, and what it all means for companies and investors aiming to score big,” Yahoo Finance wrote on LinkedIn.
Pompliano reposted the announcement on X and received positive feedback and congratulations.
Distribution channels include Yahoo Finance’s platform and mainstream podcast services such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Pandora, iHeart, and Amazon Podcasts. New episodes will be released weekly on Thursdays.
The podcast expands Yahoo’s sports business coverage. Pompliano’s analysis will focus on explaining the broader market implications of sports industry deals and developments.
According to recent Magellan AI data, the top 15 brands engaged in podcast advertising spent a combined $49.5 million in February. An analysis of the genres targeted by the top advertisers revealed that “Sports” was the most popular category used by nine brands.
